About Me

I am skilled writer and editor with a passion for environmental issues, sustainable agriculture, and wellness. Recently, I’ve ventured into freelance writing and content creation, a journey that’s been both challenging and rewarding. I’ve been pitching stories, writing for five publications and growing, and was excited to see one of my articles become a finalist for a Society of Professional Journalism award.

I graduated from McDaniel College in 2022 with a BA in Writing + Publishing, with minors in both Environmental Studies and Marketing. I entered college as a an anxious 18-year-old, but gaining confidence in my abilities and finding what I was passionate in helped me flourish into the person I am today. I ended up serving as the Editor in Chief of The McDaniel Free Press, McDaniel College’s entirely student-run news publication, for two years. I also saw a need in my community and co-founded a yoga club for students to practice mindfulness, meditation, and yoga. I graduated magna cum laude and was inducted into several leadership and academic honors societies (humble brag).

I discovered that one of my biggest passions is sustainable food systems. With a large, tightknit family from rural Ireland, farming has been in my life for as long as I can remember. As I learned more about the realm of agriculture, I was inspired to seek out and complete a farming apprenticeship at Eco City Farms in Bladensburg, MD, and put the concepts that I learned in class into action. Through my time at Eco City, I worked directly with the experienced farm staff to gain real, hands-on experience at a small, no-till, organic farm. I loved getting my hands in the dirt, and I learned about composting, soil health, crop planning, gardening skills, pest management, and agricultural marketing.nfluenced by my large Irish family and a farming apprenticeship at Eco City Farms in Bladensburg, MD. There, I got hands-on experience in no-till, organic farming, learning about composting, soil health, and more. My goal is to make agriculture more relatable and accessible through my writing.

Now, my goal is to teach people about where their food comes from and make agriculture more relatable and accessible for everyone. Navigating the climate crisis can be tricky; I hope that my writing can make it feel a little less scary.

In addition to writing, I’ve worked with the National Wildlife Federation on resource creation and community engagement, which has been incredibly fulfilling. I’m also the founder of the Prince George's County Free Seed Library and a coordinator for the Seed Library Network.

Yoga is another important part of my life. I’ve been practicing since high school and earned my 200-hour certification during the COVID-19 pandemic. Since then, I’ve taught yoga, organized workshops, and built a community focused on mindfulness and wellness. It’s something I’m passionate about and plan to continue alongside my writing.

Do your values align with mine? Are you in search of a strong writer who can help you communicate your mission?

Lets work together!
